My Favorites Cosmetics

Hey everyone! Thanks so much for reading my very first post! This is very new to me, but I’m willing to give this a go. I’m so excited to teach all of you everything I know to make you feel as beautiful on the outside as you are on the inside.

So this week’s post is going to be my favorite products for the month of May. I am always trying new products, whether it be makeup, skin care, or hair care, and this month I have quite a few that I absolutely love.

To begin, let me tell you about Sephora. Sephora! Can you find a better place? There isn’t  a Sephora store close to where I live, so thank heavens for the gift of the internet. When you sign up to be a Sephora Insider they will send you emails with codes for FREE deluxe samples when you make a purchase. You get makeup, hair products, perfume and I haven’t paid for skin care products for a while now because of this. Speaking of skin care…onto my first favorite!

Estee Lauder Nutritious Vitality 8 Radiant Moisture Crème

This wonderful jar of crème is the best moisturizer I have ever found. It’s rich and smooth and it makes my skin feel soft, and supple. The title isn’t lying when it says “radiant”. The moment I put it on I look like I’m glowing. It looks healthy and moisturized without feeling greasy. I have pretty dry skin, especially after I have washed my face and it’s also extremely sensitive. I have tried multiple moisturizers and they always make me break out. This one does not. It is meant for all skin types, which is always a plus.

(Ignore the terrible nails. I know, I need a fill in the worst way.)

This is a mini version of this cream. I got it as a free deluxe sample when I bought something else. They do not have this available any longer as a sample, because they only have them until they are out. The real size is 1.7oz for $62 at Sephora.

Buxom Show Some Skin Weightless Foundation

I got a sample a couple of weeks ago of this foundation. I immediately fell in love. As it says in its description, it combines the benefits of a BB cream and a foundation with a light to medium coverage. However, I think it has a much better coverage. It has some kind of reflective quality to it, because the moment I put it on, my dark circles nearly disappear as well as my freckles. Not that I don’t love my freckles, but you know. I use far less concealer than I used to because of this.

Also because of its luminous properties, I don’t even put a lot of highlighter on. I dust a little on the tops of my cheeks and my cupid’s bow. The rest is all the foundation. Another plus, it has an SPF of 30! Needless to say, I had to buy it. You don’t need much, just about a pea size drop, and it blends beautifully. It comes in twelve beautiful shades. I wear “Fair Game”, which is the second to lightest color (This is odd for me, because I’m usually the very lightest you can find.).

This is me…obviously…wearing this foundation. I’ve not edited the picture at all. This is how flawless it makes your skin look. It is 1.5oz for $34 at Sephora.

Benefit Cosmetics Rollerlash Mascara

According to Benefit Cosmetics this mascara was inspired by hair rollers! I can see it. The brush has little hooked barbs on them that lift and curl your eyelashes at the same. And it really works. I already have really long lashes, but this mascara has made my lashes look so long I’ve been asked multiple times if I have eyelash extensions.  No lie. It’s a very soft formula, with an almost velvety feel, and when it dries it isn’t dry and crusty. It’s almost rubbery, so it doesn’t flake or cause your lashes to break if bent. It comes in only black, but that’s okay!

I’ll admit that I did curl my lashes. I like them long! As you can see, the brush separates the lashes well and when you use it in layers, it creates volume as well. It is $24 at Sephora and Ulta.

Colour Pop Cosmetics Lippie Sticks

First thing, Colour Pop Cosmetics is so fun and so affordable! I have to be careful when I look at their makeup because all the lipsticks and eye shadows are only $5! Really! But I’m going to tell you about the lipsticks. I have five. Bichette, Button, Skimpy, Pony, and Westie. They come in varying finishes: matte, satin, and glossy. They are creamy and smooth, taste good–always a plus–and are very pigmented. You can get lip liners in corresponding colors. They are slightly darker than the lipstick, which is perfect because that’s how it should be.

Bichette is the perfect retro red. It is a matte finish. It’s funny, because they describe it as being a deep wine color. Not so much. It’s pretty bright, and because it’s so bright, the matte finish is perfect. If you put a gloss on top of a bright color, it almost makes it brighter and look like too much. Remember, when you wear a color like red, you want to keep your eyes simple.

Button is a peachy, nude color with a satin finish (satin means a slight shine, more natural looking.). On me it looks much peachier, that is because I am cool undertoned. On someone with a warmer undertone it would look more orange.

Skimpy is the perfect nude! I’m as fair as you can get, so it’s been difficult finding a nude that doesn’t make me look dead. This one is a pale beige that works on many lighter skin tones. It has a glossy finish.

Pony is a beautiful soft blue, pink with a satin finish, as Colour Pop describes it. I think it’s pretty bright. I love wearing this color with purples and greens.

Westie is a light dusty pink with a matte finish. It’s great for when you want to look soft and kind of suede. It looks beautiful with mauves, deep purples, gold, and browns.

Once again, these are only $5 and when you buy $30 worth of product you get free shipping within the United States. And believe me, it’s easy spending $30.

So that is the end of my favorite products that I discovered during May. Don’t forget to write your comments below, and ask questions if you have any. Thank you so much for reading!
