Well hello Beauty Insider!!! The Tarte Special Edition Beauty Insider Discovery Kit!

Ooooohhhhhh…. Ahhhhhhhh…. Oh yes, take it in… a special edition “Sephora-beauty-insiders-only” collection of the new Tarte Amazonian Clay line of products.

Items you can only get as a Sephora beauty insider. But let’s be realistic; those who beauty junkie are clearly beauty insiders…if you’re not, well you’re just missing out!!

Putting aside the fact that I’m absolutely certain I’ve spent at least a year’s salary at Sephora, I’m glad that the beauty insider program isn’t just some scam to get you to buy more products that you don’t need in hopes of achieving some wildly unattainable bank of beauty points. They actually give you great deals, including many products that are only available to beauty insiders.

This is one of them, a 5-piece Tarte Amazonian Clay kit that brings you the best of the best from their new line. No teeny sample products here; these are full sized goodies that allow you to get a feel for how their products work for you.

Included in the kit is a 12 hour Amazonian clay blush in Adored, an Amazonian clay eye shadow stick in bronze, Lights, Camera, Lashes Mascara, Smooth Operator Clay Finishing Powder, and an emphasEYES Clay liner in matte black.

The blush is soooooo pretty. The pink is absolutely perfect for my medium skin, and work well on probably any skin tone. It doesn’t have a ton of shimmer, but has just enough sparkle to light up your face without looking like you got into a fight with a pixie. For me, it wore strong for about 8 hours, not quite the 12 hour window I was hoping for (according to the claim), but I was still very impressed with the wear time.

I’ve already been a fan of the Lights, Camera, Lashes! mascara, and have raved about it before, so no surprises here that I was happy to have a backup.

The shadow stick is actually quite nice, and I was pleasantly surprised at how easy it was to blend with. I HATE MAC Greasepaint sticks because they are tacky, don’t blend well and just make a mess, but with this shadow stick, it was an easy blend and it didn’t dry at the speed of light. After an 8 hour day, it did start to crease a tiny bit, but nothing that would prevent me from purchasing another stick in the future. The bronze color is perfect for summer, because I love to wear a beachy-bronzey look during the warmer days….something about it just reminds me of the beach :0)

The Smooth Operator finishing powder was….*eh*. Nothing particularly special that I haven’t seen before, and it held up to my standard of what I would expect in a a finishing powder.

The clay liners are by far and large my FAVORITE part of the new clay line. These are incredibly perfect for tightlining. They’re waterproof and smudgeproof, and they really do wear all day. I have 3 other colors of the clay liners because they just wear so well. Another good thing about the liners is that they don’t dry out quickly like the MAC fluidlines, and they don’t smudge like the Bobbi Brown cake liners do.

Not to mention that I’m a sucker for makeup bags either. You could probably sell me a bag of rocks, as long as it had a pretty bag that goes with it. And believe me: I need more makeup bags about as much as I need a hole in my head. But it’s so pretteeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeey! I digress… :0P
Overall, cost-wise, this is a hell of a deal….the blush alone is $24 on it’s own, and all together the kit is $105 value for a meager $39. Jump on this one before it’s gone!

The kit is exclusively available at Sephora.com, and to beauty insiders only. If you’re not a beauty insider, sign up here! It’s free! Take advantage of the program junkies!! Who doesn’t like free stuff?
