At laaaaaaast!!!! NARS Schiap and Outremer

I was sooooo excited when my BFF, Mike, said we could go to Sephora after dinner this evening. I didn't want to go too crazy because I'm saving for Sephora's 20% off, but I was in the mood to get a little something.

I've been drooling over NARS Outremer since I first laid eyes on it and knew it had to be mine. I also picked up NARS Schiap lipstick because I swatch it every single time I go to Sephora and somehow never manage to leave with it. I decided enough was enough and finally gave in. I'm so happy that I did!

Although Schiap is certainly not for the faint of heart, I was surprised at how wearable it is once applied. Of course, wearability is subjective because I regularly wear Beauté Flouron to work. Initially when I purchased this I figured it might be too bright for daytime but would be perfect for my family's upcoming Christmas trip to Vegas. But provided I keep the rest of my makeup fairly neutral, I think this will be a lovely shade to wear day or night. I really am kicking myself for not purchasing it sooner.

As I mentioned, I also purchased NARS Outremer. I know you've all been inundated by swatches and photos of this one, so I'll spare you. Here are a few shots of my first experimental look with Outremer. I just slapped it on over the makeup I'd been wearing all day. I will say that this isn't the easiest shadow to work with, but the color makes it completely worth the effort.

I know i look a little clowny with both Outremer and Schiap on, but I wouldn't pair those in the future, I was just too lazy to remove my lipstick! xD So far Outremer is total LOVE. I can't wait to experiment more with it. Hopefully I'll have a real FOTD to show you eventually.

Finally, here's one last shot of my current nail polish. I purchased OPI for Sephora Only Gold For Me today with my NARS goodies and it was too pretty not to slap a couple coats on my ring fingers. I love the effect and I'm trying to decide if I should do the same to the rest of my nails. The base color is Essie's Absolutely Shore, which I am also positively in LOVE with. Some of you might remember my mid-summer quest to make my nails look like seafoam milk glass and this is so close to perfect that I feel like I can stop my frantic search.

So that's my little haul. I love buying just a few things instead of a bunch. I feel like I get to savor those first swatches more when I only have a couple new things to try out. That said, I hauled a LOT from MAC's fall collections, so stay tuned for my post on all of the things I couldn't live without.

Thanks for stopping by! <3

  1. Oh *that's* Schiap! I've been swatching that color forever, but I am a bit intimidated by it (which is ironic because I have so many bright lipsticks). You TOTALLY rock that, and Outremer ... at the same time! Get it girl :)

  2. LOL have we ALL been swatching this poor lipstick to death? I can totally see this color looking fantastic on you. =D I seriously felt like Barbie wearing blue eyeshadow and hot pink lipstick, but thank you for not thinking I look like a fool! Maybe it would be a fun combo for a girl's night out.

  3. Outremer makes your eye color sparkle so much! This looks the best on you (compared to other bloggers)! If you get some spare $ try Milani Rose Hip... I think it is similar to Schiap :)

  4. Aww thank you so much, Sarah! =D I'll have to find that Milani one. I don't know why, but I have the hardest time finding Milani around here.
