I usually plan out my beauty hauls pretty well, but in the midst of end-of-semester chaos, I really didn’t give my Beauty.com haul much thought. I ended up buying a lot of random things that I had considered buying in the past but never committed to. I was a little concerned that my lack of preparation would result in a less-than-stellar haul, but I ended up loving each and every thing I ordered. =)
1. Urban Decay Rollergirl Palette
I’ve had my eye on this palette since I saw in on Temptalia in March. This is the first Urban Decay palette that’s really caught my eye since the Naked palette. I love hot pink, and although I love my Naked palette, it’s a little cumbersome for traveling so I wanted a smaller neutral palette. I love every single one of these shades and aside from Darkhorse, which is in the Naked palette, they were new to me. I was also happy that Urban Decay included only shimmers and didn’t add in any of those awful glittery fallout shades (Midnight Cowboy, Uzi, etc.). All four shades are super smooth and pigmented. The palette also came with a 24/7 eyeliner in Whiskey and a Lip Junkie gloss in Crush. Here are some close-ups of the pans and some swatches:
I’m in love with this palette and the gloss. Woodstock is so pretty and totally unique to my collection. Verve is a shimmery champagne color, Suspect is a pale bronze, and Darkhorse is a dark bronzy brown. Some of you know that I’m not a fan of 24/7 liners. They smudge horribly on me, but Whiskey is a gorgeous deep brown. The Lip Junkie gloss in Crush is amazing. This is my first Urban Decay gloss and I’m really impressed with it. It’s a little sticky, but as a result, it wears well. The color can be applied sheer or built up a bit. You could definitely detect a wash of hot pink on my lips, which is great. I hate when a hot pink gloss applies so sheerly that it might as well be clear! It has a nice sweet-minty scent and I did notice a little bit of plumping action from this as well. A+ for this set! If you’re in the market for a lovely little neutral palette with a pop of summery brightness, I highly recommend this!
2. NARS lipgloss in Bougainville and Angelika
I love bright blue-pinks so Angelika was a no-brainer for me. It’s sheerer than a lot of other blue-toned pink glosses, like Viva Glam Gaga I, so I think it’s more wearable for warmer skin tones. Bougainville is from the NARS Holiday collection, but it’s still available online. I kept picking it up every time I went into Sephora but never bought it. When I was finally convinced that I would regret it forever if I didn’t buy it, I was afraid it was too late. Luckily, it was available on Beauty.com so I snatched it up. It can be applied sheerly or built up for a darker look. I love how it gives a vampy look without making me look like a goth-girl. I probably won’t wear it until autumn and winter, but I didn’t want to miss out on such a gorgeous and unique color.
3. Origins Vitazing
This moisturizer has been making the rounds on the beauty blogs lately, so I decided to give it a shot. I haven’t gotten to use it yet, but I swatched it on my hand and it does change color as you rub it in. It’s not going to be enough color that I could go without foundation, but I’m hoping it will mean I can use less foundation.
4. Essie Turquoise & Caicos and French Affair
Since purchasing Essie’s Nice is Nice (lavender), I’ve been into bright pastel colors. I will probably only use Turquoise & Caicos on my toes, but I’m definitely getting French Affair put on my nails at my next fill appointment. =)
So that’s my haul! I can’t wait to do a FOTD with my Rollergirl palette so watch for that! =D
