Obsessed With Inglot

When I first saw the Inglot palette Jessica at Getting Cheeky won from Tiffany at Will Work for Makeup I fell in LOVE. The colors were BEAUTIFUL and Jessica's comments on the amazing pigmentation and texture of these shadows really sold me. The only problem? Ordering was really difficult because they didn't have an online store.

But the makeup gods heard my pleas, because soon enough, Inglot's online store launched! I immediately ordered a 10-pan palette, purchasing all 5 of the shadows Jessica had plus 5 more.

I apologize for the awful photos, but these were the first swatches I'd ever done. I took them quickly and posted them on Twitter because I didn't have this lovely blog to explode all of my makeup joy all over. =)
L-R: 440P, 446P, 432P

L-R: 08AMC, 464DS, 21AMC, 454P, 434P
L-R: 414P, 32AMC

Newbie swatches aside, these shadows are seriously amazing. They're so smooth and buttery and blend beautifully. They really are the best eyeshadows I've ever used. Inglot's palettes themselves are extremely durable. I think nothing of tossing them in my weekend bag without worry. Oh and by the way, these palettes are so inexpensive! My 10-pan palette was $20, which sounds steep, but if you buy 10 shadows they're only $4.50 each and have 2.7g of product per pan. MAC's eyeshadows are only 1.5g and cost a whopping $14.50 EACH.

The down side? Ordering, even though it's online, is kind of a pain in the butt. This is to be expected, as the site is brand new, but just know that going in. It's completely worth the effort, but you need to do your homework before ordering. You may have noticed that the colors have numbers instead of names. This, paired with the awful product photos they have, makes it a little difficult to figure out which colors to buy. I highly recommend looking for swatches online and writing down the names of your favorites. They have a huge variety of shades and finishes, so it's a bit daunting to try to order a palette without preparing your list.

I also had a couple of problems with my order. I fully believe they were the result of ordering from a brand new online store, and the customer service representatives were great. One of the issues was that a shadow I selected was unavailable. The Inglot rep emailed me and asked if I would like to replace it with another shade or wait and have it shipped separately. I was totally fine with this and just selected a different shade. When I got my order they had only sent the shadows but not the palette to put them in. I emailed a customer service rep and they immediately shipped out my palette and sent along a FULL SIZE pigment as an apology.

Seriously. Who does that? Nobody. And the color is gorgeous and applies like a dream.

77 AMC pigment
Just to recap…

The Good: Amazing product, gorgeous pigmentation, smooth application, huge variety of colors and finishes, an excellent value compared to MAC and other popular brands.

The Bad: Online ordering isn't as smooth as you may expect, so take a deep breath and go into it with an open mind and a bit of patience. It's definitely worth it.

Thanks for stopping by!

  5. @Delyteful Speaks I have a feeling they'd be less underrated if they were more readily available! I've never read a bad review on Inglot. I'm anxious to try out more of their products so maybe I'll order some lippies and gel liners with my next 10 palette. =)

@Lilladylife OMG you NEED to go! I can't believe you live in the same city as an Inglot store and you've never been there! Although I haven't heard great things about their staff. =/

@Emily You have no idea how scared I was that I was going to drop the whole container and spill it everywhere. You can borrow anything whenever you want, dearest! And I agree about the lack of names. The darn numbers are impossible to keep track of. I MISS YOUR FACE TOO. Make a beauty blog so I can see it more.

@Danielle No problem! I highly recommend them, even if you buy a little palette to start with I really don't think you'll be disappointed. They have a huge variety of shades too so you're bound to find something new and exciting. =)

  6. I placed an order with Inglot 2 months ago and I still haven't received my shipment yet. I called customer service two weeks ago and the lady told me they hadn't even cashed in my cheque. She told me it would ship right away. Still hasn't come in...I'm not so sure ordering online with them is safe.

  7. Oh my goodness! This is the first time I've heard of them being THAT bad! I was a little concerned about ordering from them since their website is so new, but I wanted a palette badly enough to give it a go.

I hope they get your order to you soon! Maybe they'll give you a nice little surprise like they did for me. Please keep me updated! It's always good to know when companies are behaving badly. I'd hate to recommend bad service.
